The Myobite is a bite registration that is taken at the relaxed position of the mandible. Physiological rest position of the manidible can be achieved with many techniques, including ULF TENS which stimulates the facial and trigeminal nerve to obtain the rest position of the posturing muscles of the mandible. Technically Myobite is physiological rest minus 1 to 2 milimeters of freeway space in vertical dimension of occlusion.
The blue bite registration material pictured above depicts how the Myobite captures the correct position of the mandible, which sets the foundation of fabrication for Myoaligner orthotics.
